Cobb salad is an American classic. It has enjoyed popularity in the United States for nearly 80 years.
The legend has it that Cobb Salad was invented in 1937 in Hollywood at a place called “Brown Hat”.
A guest came to the restaurant, shortly before closing time and asked for a salad. So, the chef “Cooper”, run back into the kitchen to see what was still left, and had an inspiration to dice everything he found and arrange all the ingredients in vertical rows.
Thus, a colourful rainbow salad was born.
